*Note: The output signal for these flow sensors are proportional to flow but are non-linear and are intended as indication of flow only.

Flow sensors are available in two versions.inductive for steel shot and capacitive, for any media. The 399 inductive sensors produce a frequency shift signal and the 599 series inductive sensors produce a 0-5 Vdc output. These devices provide an output signal proportional to metal in the sensor. The T100 and E200 capacitive sensors are placed in-line with the blast hose. The MS capacitive sensors are placed on the blast nozzle.

Variations of media velocity for a given flow rate will affect the detected signal. If you move the sensor further away from the valve or orifice then the velocity of the shot is greater and the density and thus the signal is reduced. A common application of these devices involves setting the process to the proper operation and then adjusting the "span" to achieve the 5.0 Vdc output. Variations of flow from that level are therefore reported. If more accurate calibration is desired see the series of MagnaValves that can be factory calibrated.
