(read only to 0.0001")

From Almen Gage Owner's Manual IM0060C

3.3 Blanking of last digit
The standard resolution of the indicator is 0.00005" and this is often confusing.
You can supress the 5th digit and show only 0.0001" by using the following procedure.
The last digit in the indicator display has three options: 0, 5, or blank.
Users may use the following procedure to change the display of the 5th digit.

a) Have the unit on-scale (i.e. have a strip on the gage so that a number is shown in the display)
b) Press and hold M/OFF - then press and release in/mm for the M1 icon
c) Press and release the M/OFF for the M2 icon. Notice that a cursor is above the first digit.
d) Press and release the in/mm button repeatedly until the cursor is above the 5th digit.
e) Press the ZERO/ON button repeatedly to scroll through the choices of 0, 5 or blank.(stop when it is blank)
f) Press and release the M/OFF button
